Athlete round up

It has been a few weeks of top competition, a few weeks where major targets dates have come and goals achieved.

Andree Walkin

3rd place in the European age-group championships, too many smile filled words to write about the result. Chapeau Bas

Kilkee is a Triathlete’s Mecca when it comes to goals and aspirations. Congratulations to all who took part.

Gotri Athletes from a number of different clubs took to the windy waters, wet bike and steep slopes of hell with nearly all making huge time gains in the not so glorious conditions, testament to the efforts put into training over the last number of months.

The Roll call

David Richardson

David came home in fourth place overall in his first ever Kilkee. a massive result. David had 4 great races within one big race, a good swim, bike and run with really good transitions.  Cheered on all the way by his ever supporting team and girlfriend Eva, he had time to smile and Hi five the crowd on the home straight.

Colm Turner

The white African made his return to racing after a long lay off with injury. The splits are not great but the smiles from the great man, being able to race again after such a long lay off, was great to see from a coaches point of view.

Mike o Grady

Mike had a good race to equal his time from last year. The NCW west man had an event filled morning getting to the race and just managed to make the start line. a huge run pb of over 4mins on the Dunlicky course. Well done

Dave Fitzgerald

Another year, another personal best. Finally found it within him to push on during the flat run course, taking over 5mins off last year’s time. Well done

The Tri Couple

Another year another tick, The Husband with a great swim, the wife with a great bike, them both with a great run. Them both with a smile at the finish line.

Liam Kennedy

A man who has come a long way, this time last year Liam was not able to swim, had a huge fear of open water, he took on the big bay swim, this year he conquered hell and had dinner with the devil at the finish line.

Expect some big age-group results from this man later on in the season.

The Monday night training crew
